I really like Fran Betters' Usual fly pattern - basically a comparadun tied with snowshoe hare. I have great look when I am not sure if the fish are targeting emergers or surface. A great searching pattern that is buoyant and easy to see on the water. Materials I use:
Hook: BWO 100, Tiemco TMC 100 or Mustad 94840 Size 14-16
Thread: 6/0 or 8/0 bright orange. I used Uni 8/0 Fire Orange.
Body: Natural Snowshoe hare foot
Wing: Natural Snowshoe hare foot
